Spring buds push through bare woody branches and wintery days become lazy as new life begins to swell. Just beneath the surface, seeds long held in the belly of Mother Earth burst and soft green sprouts make their way to the light. It’s been a long winter here and we are welcoming of warmer days.
I too feel a stirring, an anticipation of something yet to come. It slowly pulses in the dark, fecund underground of my internal landscape, fermenting away whilst taking shape and building momentum. In this current time of upheaval and uncertainty each and every one of us is feeling this anticipation at some level, though many may not yet know to what it truly speaks. We are being called to change, to redefine our values and reassess the way we choose to live. We need to remember and return to a way where the beat of our drum is in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
Spring is a gentle reminder and reflection of emergence and growth, where the cycle of life comes once again. Now is a time of new beginnings, a time to imagine and create. We shape the world in which we live, let us shape it wisely.
Imagine a world where we are defined by who we help and what we give, rather than by what we take and how much we own. Imagine the difference when a sense of reverence for our earth is renewed and upheld, when respect flourishes in every family home, in every community. Imagine if we really understand how each and every form of life has its place and purpose here on our earth, and that we are all woven together in the making. Imagine a life where generosity flows freely, where we stand together hand in hand, knowing that we can rely on each other through times of prosperity as well as times of challenge. Imagine the effect when we all birth our children gently into this world, guiding and teaching them the way of Love through kindness, humility and compassion, that they may then pass it on to their children. Imagine birth and death being understood as a Sacred Rite of Passage and that we choose to live from this knowledge.
We need to come together and stand as one people of one place, with one thing in mind. That being the sustainable continuance for all forms of life here on our Mother Earth. If we can hold the vision of these imaginings and see them into being through choosing a wiser and more caring way to live, we may have a chance. If we consider our children and our children’s children and their children’s children in every decision we make, in every action we take, then we have the potential to create anew.
So Imagine this… When we come to the end of our time here on this beautiful earth, having reflected upon the life we have lived, we can be satisfied that we have contributed to a more caring, conscious and sustainable continuance. That we may then rest into our departure knowing we have done our very best to be truly human.
